BATFE Gunsmith Rules I appreciated "BATFE Gunsmith Rules" in the October 2021 issue. Although I was already aware of the ATF proposal regarding frames and receivers, there was some great information in the article that I was unaware of. Unfortunately for those that weren’t already tracking this proposal, the BATFE comment submission program on this has since expired. I am an aspiring "hobby" gunsmith currently enrolled in the Sonoran Desert Institute Degree program.
After reading the article, it was clear to me that many gunsmiths and gunsmith hopefuls, as well as FFLs are surely unaware of how some of these proposals will impact them.
