Mc Millan Adjustable A6

Gale Mc Millan began producing stocks in 1973 for himself to compete in Benchrest events. His fellow competitors began asking him to make stocks for their rifles, which led to starting his own company. Since then, Mc Millan has branched into a number of product lines. Mc Millan Fiberglass Stocks manufactures custom rifle stocks and accessories with product areas including Tactical, Competition, Benchrest, Hunting & Sport, and Ultralight.

Customers include individual shooters, military, law enforcement, custom gunsmiths, and OEM rifle manufacturers. Recently added was the Adjustable A6 to their Tactical A-Series line based off the A5 with three exceptions: Flat sides on the forearm for shooting off barricades, a tapered butthook, and no texture on the fore end and pistol grip. Blending design elements from the Benchrest and A-series of stocks, the Adjustable A6 has a more angular forend profile for stability.

The flat bottom is optimized for shooting over barricades and preventing "stock roll" while the angled sides are suited for use with most tripod mounting systems. A swell-palmed grip provides a comfortable hold for both large and small hand shooters. Also featured is the buttstock hook which enables users to maneuver the rifle with the non-shooting hand, a flat butt stock bottom that supports rear stability and an integral adjustable cheekpiece for the perfect cheek weld.

The Adjustable A6 comes with three inlet options: Flat top (no inlet), basic inlet (action outline and barrel channel), and full inlet (action and barrel inlet, molded-in color, cheekpiece is extra). As with all Mc Millan stocks, customers can choose from a wide selection of colors, finishes, and customizable accessories.

The stock looks similar to the Manners stocks with the flat surfaces, but Mc Millan incorporated these surfaces to help with tripod mounting systems and to help stabilize the platform which firing over a barricade. The stock is available with an adjustable cheekpiece and spacer system at the normal add-on cost. Currently listed as being available for the Remington-style actions, which also includes Savage actions. While not a revolutionary design, it represents a good evolution of the company’s stock designs.
