While I haven’t tried testing the forward assist method, the bread crumbs just weren’t luring me in that direction. Had the guys who were experimenting with that modification to Doug’s technique been coming back with rave reviews and saying they were getting tighter groups I would have been motivated to try it on the machine rest. However, none of this precludes you from trying some groups with both methods and reporting back.
