M16/AR-15 Blueprint I need a blueprint that shows the location of sear pin holes for the AR- 15. I have Class III license and ama dealer and gunsmith in Arizona. Ken There are those outfits that sell "off the books" AR lowers that are 80% finished, thus negating a required serial number, and only require a couple of steps by the owner to finish them. Included are drilling the holes for the trigger and hammer pins.

Some of these outfits send along a plastic template with the hole locations so the customer runs less of a chance of messing up the location. I’ve been told one such company also includes the location of the trip sear pin hole but I may be remembering incorrectly as I wasn’t particularly interested in any part of the project. Contacting some of these companies might be worthwhile.

If they don’t offer this hole location with their templates they may be willing to include one on a special order basis or furnish a blueprint or lend some assistance in where to fine one.
