Clean Shot

Clean Shot is an automatic bore cleaning device for shotguns. Created by Huntego Limited (Huntegoltd.com, Clean Shot is a first of its kind shoot-through bore cleaning cartridge, being a fast, efficient, and convenient cleaning field cleaning method. A Clean Shot cartridge is chambered and employed in the same manner as firing a shotshell.

The high-velocity bore cleaning device field cleans the bore in an instant, using a patented material the applies approximately 9,600 psi of outward pressure to scrub, trap particles, and wipe the bore clean. It works in the field, range, or anywhere a shotgun can safely be fired, removing fouling, plastics and other bore-eating contaminants in less than a second. Founded by Curt Whitworth, the product is based on three U. S. patents.

The propellants used are highly oxidized and formulated to have a very low carbon composition in their chemical chain. Any residual that may be left in the bore is extremely minimal, thus not fouling like a shotshell normally would. While the payload is a cleaning composition and not a wad or shot, Clean Shot must be handled and used as live ammunition. Compared to normal cleaning, Clean Shot removes more fouling than a patch after several passes.

The cleaner is safe to use on all smooth and rifled bores for repeated uses. When Huntego Limited first announced Clean Shot they used Fire Funder. com new crowdfunding platform dedicated to shooting industry products and services—and it was their first crowdfunded product. Huntego Limited began by launching the 12 gauge model for Clean Shot which uses a standard shotgun hull and is manufactured using the same process and standards as ammunition currently manufactured by the OEM brands today.

They are in mid-production of a large volume die for this. The company is working to release 20 and 28 gauges, as well as .410 next year. They are also actively working on a version for 9x19mm and 5.56x45mm.
